Onboarding

This onboarding guide will walk you through everything you need to start trading on VDEX.

Before getting started, make sure you have:

  • A self-custodial wallet (e.g., Rabby, MetaMask).

  • WETH, WBTC, USDT, USDC, or other supported assets on a compatible Settlement Layer (e.g., Ethereum, Bitlayer, Nibiru).

  • Access to a desktop device (VDEX is currently desktop-only).

Connect Your Wallet

  1. Open the VDEX web application.

  2. Click "Connect Wallet" on the top right.

  3. Select your preferred wallet and approve the connection.

Upon connection, VDEX will automatically create your Virtual Node and set up a Vault of Isolated User (VIU) for secure, self-custodial trading.

Deposit Collateral

To trade, you need to deposit assets into your VIU.

  1. Click "Deposit".

  2. Select your preferred asset (WETH, WBTC,USDT, USDC, or other supported assets).

  3. Complete the transaction directly on the Settlement Layer smart contract.

Your funds are now secured within your isolated vault and ready for trading.

Start Trading -Once funded:

  1. Choose a market (perpetuals or spot).

  2. Place a limit or market order via the Decentralized Limit Order Book (DLOB).

  3. Orders settle with sub-millisecond finality without paying gas.

Withdraw Funds

You may withdraw funds at any time:

  1. Go to "Withdraw".

  2. Select your asset and amount.

  3. Withdrawals are processed directly from your VIU via the Settlement Layer.

NOTES

  • VDEX does not charge gas fees for trading or order placement.

  • All transactions (trades, cancels, liquidations) execute in P2P via ZK State Channels and are settled onchain through the Settlement Layer when necessary.

  • VDEX is fully non-custodial; your assets always remain under your control.
