Bug Reporting Guidelines

Clear and detailed bug reports are essential for maintaining a fast, secure, and reliable trading platform. Feedback from the community helps identify and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring smooth trading for all participants.

When encountering a bug or unexpected platform behavior, reports should include:

  • A concise description of the issue observed.

  • Steps taken before the issue occurred.

  • Any relevant screenshots or error messages.

  • The device, browser, or wallet used at the time of the issue.

Thorough reporting allows the development team to diagnose problems faster, implement fixes, and continuously improve the trading experience on VDEX.

1. Verify the Issue

Before submitting a report, confirm that the problem is not caused by external factors or expected behavior by:

  • Refreshing the platform and attempting the action again.

  • Ensuring a stable internet connection and proper wallet functionality.

  • Reviewing the FAQ section to determine whether the observed behavior is an intended feature.

2. Gather Essential Information

Providing detailed and accurate information helps ensure the timely resolution of reported issues. Include the following in your submission:

  • Description of the Issue: A concise yet detailed explanation of the problem encountered.

  • Steps to Reproduce: A clear, step-by-step account of actions taken leading to the issue.

  • Expected Behavior: What outcome was anticipated under normal conditions.

  • Actual Behavior: The observed result, including any errors or unexpected functionality.

  • Screenshots or Screen Recordings (Optional): Visual evidence to assist in troubleshooting.

  • Wallet Address (Optional): Useful for investigating deposit, withdrawal, or trade-related issues.

  • Browser and Device Information: Specify browser type (e.g., Chrome, Brave) and device used.

3. Reporting Channels

Bugs can be reported through the following channels:

  • Discord: Submit the report in the #bug-reports channel on the official VDEX Discord server.

  • Telegram: Report the issue in the official VDEX Support channel on Telegram.

  • Email: Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line: "Bug Report – [Brief Issue Description]"

4. After Submitting a Report
  • The VDEX team will review the submission and may request additional details for clarification.

  • Critical issues are given priority and addressed as quickly as possible.

  • Status updates or resolutions may be communicated through official community channels, including Discord, Telegram, or email notifications.

5. Responsible Vulnerability Disclosure

If a vulnerability or security flaw is discovered, responsible disclosure is required. Please report such findings privately by contacting the VDEX security team at [email protected].

  • Security-related findings should be reported privately through the designated secure channels and must not be shared publicly to prevent potential exploitation.

  • Contributions that significantly enhance platform security may receive acknowledgment or a reward under the VDEX community incentive program.

  • Every report plays an important role in strengthening the platform’s safety and reliability.
