Full Self-Custody
Your Funds, Your Control—Always
In traditional platforms, users hand over their funds to a centralized entity, introducing custodial risk. VDEX eliminates this risk by ensuring that traders retain full control over their assets at all times.
Smart Contract Escrow: Funds are held in self-custodial smart contracts; only the user can authorize movements.
Zero-Knowledge State Channels: Trades are executed off-chain but can always be settled on-chain, ensuring security without requiring trust.
Disaster-Proof: Even if VDEX is offline, users can force withdrawals using cryptographic proofs.
How It Works: Users deposit funds into smart contracts on the Settlement Layer. ZK State Channels allow users to retain custody while trading off-chain. At any point, users can finalize their state and withdraw funds directly from the blockchain.
Why It Matters: Self-custody prevents exchange hacks, fund freezes, and third-party mismanagement—giving traders true ownership of their assets.
